AMC Garden Rooms has established itself as a specialist in creating tailored garden studios that adapt to individual needs and creative practices. Their portfolio encompasses compact pods for drawing, sewing, or digital art through to spacious, multi-room layouts that can incorporate sinks, storage areas and cloakrooms. These buildings can be configured to suit all creativity mediums, ensuring that both the space and finishes reflect the way each client works.
Each of AMC’s four ranges brings a different character. The Clarity range features extended eaves for a distinctive detail, while the Unity range delivers a bold, cubist look. The Holkham has a dual-pitched tiled roof, adding external character and a vaulted interior well suited to larger canvases or sculptural work. For smaller gardens, the Garden Pod is a compact but highly functional option. Starting from these designs, AMC collaborates with clients to adapt size, layout, and specification into a personalised studio.
Manufactured in Cambridgeshire using traditional insulated timber framing, the building components are delivered to site for assembly by AMC’s in-house team. Every stage is handled directly by AMC, from consultation to final service connections. Finance options are also available to make spreading the cost straightforward.

ROOFLINES

All designs are planned with Permitted Development in mind, with AMC guiding clients through planning where taller or non-standard designs are required.
APPROVAL PROCESS
Each AMC Garden Rooms range is designed for Permitted Development compliance. For projects requiring full planning approval, AMC prepares and submits the application on behalf of the client. Where specifications involve plumbing or kitchens, or extra large footprints, AMC adapts designs to Building Regulation standards and manages Building Control sign-off, ensuring full compliance.
SERVICE
AMC Garden Rooms provides a complete turnkey service, from the initial consultation to handover of a ready-to-use creative studio. This includes concrete slab foundations or assessment of an existing base, groundworks, and all service connections. Their electrical service covers interior and exterior lighting, hardwired internet, and audiovisual cabling — with layouts tailored to the client’s creative use.
STRUCTURE
Studios are constructed around a robust insulated timber frame, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern insulation for year-round comfort. External finishes include a choice of timbers and composite claddings in different profiles and colours. Roof finishes vary by range, from sleek mono-pitched forms to fully tiled pitched roofs. Interiors are plastered and decorated as standard, with the option of OSB or plywood linings for practicality. Heating and cooling systems can be integrated for seasonal comfort.
SITE CHALLENGES
The AMC team assesses site conditions during the consultation, advising whether an existing base is suitable or a new foundation is required. Their in-house installation team adapts layouts for different garden sizes and settings, ensuring smooth installation even in tight or irregular plots.
