Founded in 1995, Timeless Garden Rooms is one of the UK’s most experienced garden building specialists, designing bespoke gyms and wellness spaces from their Kent workshops for clients across England and the Channel Islands. Every project reflects their hallmark combination of architectural character, tailored design, and year-round performance.
Their traditional pitched-roof buildings are instantly recognisable for their New England charm, featuring decorative detailing and vaulted ceilings that offer generous headroom — ideal for comfortably using gym equipment or creating an open, calming space for yoga or pilates. For a more contemporary aesthetic, their mono-pitched designs feature sleek lines and modern Larch cladding, with the option to increase roof height above 2.5m where planning approval allows.
Timeless Garden Rooms can also integrate shower rooms or cloakrooms, creating self-contained wellness spaces. Clients benefit from a comprehensive service where design, foundations, installation, and final connections are all managed in-house, ensuring a seamless experience from first sketch to finished gym.

Design
Clients are supported through each stage of design, choosing from traditional or contemporary aesthetics. The New England–style buildings feature painted weatherboard cladding, cedar shingle roofs, and refined detailing such as barge boards, finials, and lead flashing. Contemporary designs use Siberian Larch cladding and dark-framed glazing for a clean, modern look.
Inside, spaces can be plastered or panelled and painted in Farrow & Ball colours, with vaulted ceilings in pitched designs enhanced by exposed beams. Flooring, lighting, and heating are specified to create a comfortable environment for daily workouts or relaxation.
Size & Layouts
As bespoke designers, Timeless Garden Rooms works to precise dimensions to make the most of each garden. Layouts can include open-plan gyms, multi-room configurations, or zones for exercise, relaxation, and storage. All buildings are designed with Permitted Development compliance in mind, and the team is experienced in guiding clients through the planning process for taller designs.
ROOFLINES
Timeless Garden Rooms offers both dual-pitched and mono-pitched roof styles. Pitched roof designs provide generous ceiling height and character, while mono-pitched designs offer a contemporary silhouette. Roof heights can be increased above 2.5m to suit gym use, with planning support provided where required.
APPROVAL PROCESS
All designs are created with Permitted Development compliance in mind. When planning permission or Building Control sign-off is required, the experienced team manages the process on the client’s behalf. They are also skilled in handling projects affected by Tree Preservation Orders.

Each building is constructed using a multi-layer timber frame system with insulation for year-round performance. Exteriors feature painted weatherboarding or Siberian Larch, paired with cedar shingles or modern roofing materials. Interiors are finished to a high standard, with optional heating and cooling systems for all-season use.

Timeless Garden Rooms has extensive experience designing around complex site conditions, including Tree Preservation Orders and varied terrain. They are also skilled in managing the logistics of sites with difficult access and have successfully completed projects beyond mainland England, including the Channel Islands and Isle of Wight. Their bespoke approach allows layouts and rooflines to be adapted to meet both planning and site-specific requirements while preserving functionality and aesthetic balance.
