Design
Four core ranges form the starting point, each customisable in footprint, layout, glazing, and finishes. External cladding options include natural timbers, composite finishes in a range of colours, and corrugated metal for a contemporary architectural feel. Interior finishes range from fully plastered and decorated rooms to plywood or natural matchboard linings for a warm, Scandinavian-inspired aesthetic, providing the perfect backdrop for your furnishings. Garden2Office can also incorporate soundproofing elements, which is particularly useful when creating a home cinema or TV snug where a more enclosed acoustic feel is preferred.
Size & Layouts
Available in small, medium, large, and extra-large footprints. Layouts are tailored through door and window placement, partition walls, and the option to incorporate additional areas such as storage rooms or cloakrooms. Both mains-connected and modern waterless toilet solutions are available where a WC is desired.
ROOFLINES
The Friggebod, SportsKabin, and Kapsel ranges feature mono-pitched designs under 2.5m to suit Permitted Development. The Malmö range offers a dual-pitched roof with a vaulted interior and standing seam metal roofing. Where additional height or a different architectural form is desired, Garden2Office can help with the planning application.
APPROVAL PROCESS
Buildings are designed with Permitted Development in mind. If planning permission is required — for height, size, or positioning in the garden — Garden2Office handles the application. They also deliver Building Regulation-compliant projects, including securing Building Control sign-off where applicable.
SERVICE
Garden2Office offers a full turnkey service, covering foundations, installation, finishes, and final electrical connections for a ready-to-use room. For those preferring a hands-on build, self-build kits are available using the same insulated timber panel system, complete with guidance and support.
STRUCTURE
The Swedish insulated timber panel system features a multi-layer build-up with plywood sheathing for structural strength. Roofing options include EPDM or standing seam metal. Heating options include underfloor systems, electric heaters, or air conditioning. LED lighting and optional Ethernet/data cabling can be integrated for streaming and media use.
SITE CHALLENGES
Garden2Office’s adaptable specification allows designs to be tailored to the space available and the character of the garden. Access considerations are identified during the site survey, and materials can be supplied in manageable components where access is limited.
