Introducing Cosy Garden Rooms

A popular use for Cosy Garden Rooms is as a music room. Their insulated, multi-layer structures offer good acoustic properties as standard, providing a comfortable environment for music practice and creative work. During the design consultation, the team can discuss glazing configuration and additional specifications to help tailor the design around the client’s sound and space needs.

Cosy Garden Rooms is an experienced team specialising in tailored garden room design and construction. Each project begins with a design consultation, where Mark, their lead designer, works closely with clients to understand how the space will be used and what features they would like included. From compact studios to larger multi-room layouts, each building is individually designed to complement its setting and purpose.

All projects are managed in-house from the initial design to the final handover, with foundations, services, and electrical connections included. This turnkey approach leaves clients with a fully finished, ready-to-use music room that can be enjoyed year-round.

Design

Each project begins with a detailed design consultation to refine the building’s layout, finishes, and glazing. Clients can choose from Western Red Cedar, Redwood, Larch, Hardie Plank, or composite cladding. Doors and windows are available in uPVC or aluminium systems in various colours. Internally, rooms are finished with grooved wall panelling and white ceilings for a bright, clean aesthetic. Lighting and socket layouts are planned with the client to ensure functionality for musical equipment or recording setups.

Size & Layouts

Cosy Garden Rooms builds across small, medium, large, and extra-large footprints. Layouts can incorporate internal partitions for storage or secondary spaces, and glazing can be positioned to achieve the desired balance of light and sound control. All designs are created to comply with Permitted Development rules, with guidance available where planning approval is required.

ROOFLINES

Cosy Garden Rooms offers mono-pitched designs under 2.5m, as well as dual-pitched rooflines that create vaulted ceilings with options for gable-end glazing. The choice of roofline can influence both the room’s sense of space and its acoustic characteristics, which the team can advise on during the design consultation.

APPROVAL PROCESS

All buildings are designed with Permitted Development compliance in mind. If planning approval is required, the Cosy Garden Rooms team can assist with drawings and advice to support an application.

SERVICE

Cosy Garden Rooms delivers a complete turnkey service, managing every stage from foundations to the final electrical connection. Their concrete slab foundations provide stability across the full footprint of the building — a robust base for long-term performance. Each project includes tailored electrics with data cabling for reliable connectivity, recessed lighting, and external fittings, all covered by a 10-year guarantee.

STRUCTURE

Each building is constructed around an insulated timber frame with a durable multi-layer build-up for year-round comfort. The solid concrete slab base supports the structure evenly and can help limit vibration transfer. Clients can select from timber, composite, or fibre-cement finishes, with internal wall panelling providing a durable and stylish surface.

SITE CHALLENGES

Concrete slab foundations enable Cosy Garden Rooms to install on sloping or uneven ground, providing a level, long-lasting base. Their on-site team manages the process efficiently, ensuring smooth installation even in complex garden settings.
